Tankstor Above Ground Tanks
SPEL Products have for many years manufactures above ground tanks for storage processes.
Horizontal or vertical above ground tanks for containment
SPEL Products are increasingly supplying tanks for above ground installation where below ground installation costs are high and surface area is not at a premium. This is particularly where the ground is contaminated or is unstable made up ground.
Horizontal SPEL Tankstor tanks are mounted on adjustable galvanised steel cradles fixed to a suitable preformed concrete slab designed for the required loadings.
The tanks can be single skin or with secondary containment (bunded) or double wall units. Examples of contracts undertaken are illustrated above.
SPEL cavity monitoring units can be fitted to warn if any corrosion or accidental damage occurs during service.
H series, horizontal tanks (2,000 litres – 300,000 litres)
Horizontal SPEL Tankstor tanks are mounted on adjustable galvanised steel cradles fixed to a suitable preformed concrete slab designed for the required loadings. Vertical tanks are supplied for mounting on a concrete base slab – see below.
V series, vertical cylindrical tanks (5000 litres – 150,000 litres)

Construction
- The SPEL Tankstor tanks are filament wound in GRP and designed with reference to BS 4994:1987, BS EN 976-1, 978 and BS EN 858-1:2002.
- The tanks can be single skin or with secondary containment (bunded) or double wall units.
- 25 Year Warranty.
Extras
- SPEL cavity monitoring units can be fitted to warn if any corrosion or accidental damage occurs during service.
- Colour impregnation to customer requirements.
- Contents gauges and instrumentation for on-site and/or remote monitoring.
